Community Development Program Focused on Skill Enhancement (BBM)
Dedicated to promoting economic growth and grassroots empowerment throughout the year, the Southwestern Academic Research Center (SWARC) runs regular community training initiatives and practical skill development programs [SWARC]. As part of this ongoing civic mission, the center recently organized an intensive basic computer literacy course hosted at the Southwestern State College campus. The program successfully equipped over 50 local residents with essential digital skills, focusing on practical computer functions, internet navigation, and fundamental software tools designed to boost personal livelihoods. Led by experienced tech instructors, this hands-on workshop provided participants with actionable digital tools to help them secure modern employment or confidently launch their own micro-businesses. The high community turnout and positive feedback highlight the long-term value of these recurring educational drives, reinforcing SWARC’s continuous effort to bridge the digital divide and support economic self-reliance across the region.
