Student Psychology in Selecting Subjects in Higher Education: SWRAC Mentorship Frameworks & Annual Academic Programming (BBM)

Annually, SWARC conducts a landmark institutional study tracking Secondary Education Examination (SEE) graduates. This specialized research decodes the psychological frameworks, critical decision-making pathways, and behavioral drivers that dictate student trajectories immediately following their board examinations, ultimately constructing a comprehensive developmental and structural profile of transitioning youth. This research is based on the study of student psychology including the mindset of students that directs them to choose certain field of study. By organizing seminar, workshop, mentor and peers’ session to examine the mindset of transitioning youth, this project tracks the internal and external variables that drive them toward specific higher education academic paths in Nepal.

The individual views, academic visions, and long-term career benchmarks that students set for themselves before enrolling in different faculties. The structural criteria and financial variables families evaluate before matching a student with +2 Science, Management, Law, Technology, Hotel Management, or Social Science streams.

The Southwestern Academic Research Center (SWARC) managed this project through its complete lifecycle: designing the primary methodology, deploying regional surveys, and collecting empirical datasets. Our research team, supported by our student review boards, is currently processing data regressions to publish the finalized analytical insights in our open-access SWARC Digital Archive.
